この写真見つけました。

昔かわいかったやろう！

昨日兄弟子の桂三風の繁昌亭独演会で勉強させていただきました。

実は、よく考えたら、アコーディオン漫談の繁昌亭デビューでした。

さすがお兄さんの会でお客様いっぱい集まっていただきまして、とてもいい会でした。

三風兄さんは創作落語を三席演じました。その中で一つがネタおろしでした。

舞台袖で勉強させていただきました、とても充実しておりました。

ところが、また写真を撮るのが忘れました。この写真に一緒にいるのは田辺さん　−　昨日御茶子をやっていただきました。着物姿はとてもとても美しかったので、是非写真を一緒にとりましょうということで。

でもその写真を撮るのも忘れまして、結局普段着しょっとになりました。

でも皆様創造して欲しい。本当に美しかったです！！！！

Yesterday I performed Accordion Comedy for the first time at the Hanjotei Rakugo Theatre.  I was invited by my older brother storyteller Katsura Sanpu to perform as his guest.

This is the second time he has invited me, so I really appreciate his kindness in letting me perform in his shows.

But...

As usual, I forgot to take pictures!

How did I get to be so absent minded?

Anyhow, the show was a great success.  Sanpu san writes his own original stories, so it's great to listen to him from the wings.

In the picture with me is the lovely Ms Tanabe, who wore a great kimono for the evening and performed the role of "Ochako", which is the person who adjusts the cushion and flips the name card and sets other elements of the stage between storytellers. 

She  looked unbelievable in kimono, but you'll just have to imagine it, because we forgot to take a picture while still in costume.

23日の落語会皆様どうもありがとうございました！結局200人以上のお客様お越し下さいました！！

やっているほうの私はとてもとても楽しかったです。お客様いっぱい笑って頂きました。

当日ばたばたして写真一枚も撮れていない！！！！あほやなぁ。。。

お越し下さいました方々心の底からまことのありがとうございました。

なんと感謝申し上げたらよいやら言葉はございません。

Thank you to everyone who came out last Saturday!  The audience numbered over 200, and it was a great time!!!

Today my Manzai partner and I are in the M1 Manzai contest.  Today is round 1.

We've prepared a 2-minute comedy sketch and practiced it about 127 times.

一昨日東梅田の電車待ちで、女性のかたが声掛けていただきました。京橋花月の出番を見ていただきまして、友達三人と楽しかったとおしゃいました。

演歌歌手水木けいさんと一緒に出番となりました。

凄く凄く明るくて、とてもいい人です。

着物どうしで、夫婦漫才師に間違えられました！

I had the opportunity to perform along with the Enka singer Ms Mizuki Kei. 

She is a great singer, and a really great person!  She even gave me her new CD.

I can't get the song she sang out of my head!! 

一昨日秋のプチ祭でアコーディオン漫談で勉強させて頂きました！

たくさんの人聴きにきて下さいましてありがとうございました！！

落語会のチラシを１０００枚くらいお配りいたしました。

I had a great time performing outside at the Namba Grand Katetsu theatre's mini autumn festival!!!

先輩どちら様もいらっしゃらないときに、繫昌亭の楽屋で同期の噺家四人で遊んでいました。

月亭ハチ斗さん、桂ちきんさん、露の紫さんと私は皆二ヶ月以内入門しました！

鬼の居ぬ間に洗濯。

These three storytellers, Tukitei Hatto, Katsura Chicken, Tsuyu no Murasaki and I all became storytellers within the same two months.  Our year has 11 people in it, the most in recent years.  So far, no-one has quit, and no-one seems likely to.

The Japanese saying for "When the cat's away, the mice will play," reads "When the monster's away, we do laundry."

先日また内海さんと神戸でランチでした。メンバーはとてもとても面白かったです。

私だけスーパーエキストララージランチ頼まれました。内海さんの命令、もちろん！

大阪ラジオでたまたま先輩の露の団姫姉さんに会いました。何歳に見えますか？

日本人は西洋人より若く見えるという話しをしました。

お姉さんはトロントに行ったらたぶん15歳くらいに間違えられます！

This is fellow storyteller Tsuyu no Maruko-san.  We met by chance at Osaka Radio yesterday. 

She is young, but about three years above me in the storytelling world.

We were joking about how young Japanese people look to foreigners. 

Judging by this picture, I told her people in Toronto would probably take her for about 15 years old! 　

今日は繁昌亭で勉強させていただきました。桂あさ吉兄さんの大喜利ばん落語会。前半はなんと、落語七席！！！上のメンバーでございました。後半みんなと一緒に大喜利やってきました。あさ吉兄さんは大喜利の司会で大活躍でした。

お客様いっぱい笑っていただきました！

Tonight I was part of a Rakugo show at the Hanjotei Rakugo theatre in Osaka.  Seven storytellers performed in the first half and then we did an "ogiri," in which we were all lined up on stage for word games. 

It was a great audience and the host of the evening, Mr. Katsura Asakichi, was fantastic both in his story and his role as host of the ogiri word games.  In all a great night!!!

神戸に落語会の宣伝に行きました。そのひとつが、「KOBEとんぼ玉ミュージアム」という素敵なミュージアムです。館長さんがお友達で、チラシを置いて、宣伝してくださるということで行ってきました。とんぼ玉を作る体験もできます。15分もかからないということで、私も作ってみました。ブルースカイにサンシャインがあるイメージです。

まだまだ修行たりないですね。。。

I went to Kobe to advertise my show and walked into a bead jewelry shop.  Everything looked really fascinating, so I tried making my own.  This glass bead is a sky with sunshine in it!

Well, it was my first try...

ついでに鳥取花回廊行きました。

とてもとても綺麗でした！

We also went to the Tottori Gardens.  Gorgeous!

土曜日はウォーキングのメインイベント。めっちゃ歩きました！

ウォーキングが終わりましたら、そとの舞台で大助・花子師匠のバラやティー・パフォーマンスが始まりました。お客様千人以上いました。

私はアコーディオン漫談と大喜利で勉強させていただきました！

And on Saturday we walked!

Tottori is really beautiful.  This is a temple in the mountains.

After that we did a big comedy performance at an outdoor stage with about 1000 people in attendance!  Thanks everyone!

今週末はバスで鳥取県までいきました。宮川大助・花子師匠のもとで勉強させていただきました。

金曜日は皆生温泉の旅館でとまりました。大人数で宴会がありまして、私はカラオケ大会に御参加させていただきました。石原裕次郎の「夜霧よ今夜もありがとう」を歌いました。

懐石料理もとてもとても美味しかったです！

This weekend I was fortunate enough to be invited to participate in Daisuke and Hanako Shisho's Walking for Health event in Tottori Prefecture.  We stayed over at a hot spring resort where there was a dinner party.

I participated in the Karaoke contest but unfortunately did not win any prize...

The food, pictured above, was amazing!

My arrangement of the Orphea story into a mini-opera for kids seems to be picking up speed.  Have a look!  The gentleman playing all the different roles is my friend and creative partner Lawrence Cotton.

この石のようなものは実はチョコレートです。でも他の人が食べている姿を見ろと、本当に石を食べているように見えます。

実際いただくと本当に美味しい。

Mr. Utsumi introduced me to the delights of little rock choco.  They really look like small stones or pebbles, but they tasts amazing!
